Physical activity and meditation

In the previous article, we looked at how meat consumption affects the course of meditation. Today, let's focus in a similar way on the relationship between sport / physical exertion and meditation.

Sport is meditation

Let's take a look at runners, for example. When they run and don't think about work and family at the time, but just concentrate on their performance, it's basic meditation -> focusing on just one thought. Every performance athlete knows that if they can't, all they have to do is change their mind and at that moment they boldly continue. Thus, through thought, they influence their physical body.

Again ... you will use the thought to affect your physical body. Do you realize the miracle? If you already know this, what prevents you from convincing your sick body that it is healthy? Or explain to it that you have beautiful skin, long hair ... whatever you like. You already know that this works on a similar principle. Then any adrenaline sports, martial arts - here you can experience the maximum present moment.

Just as someone sits down and watches their mind for an hour or concentrates on one thought (such as the breath), so equally full-fledged meditation is a sport at the moment. This is definitely one of the many reasons why there are many sports enthusiasts. The feeling of a completely "cleaned" head, without worries, all thoughts settled. In addition, an influx of endorphins from physical movement. Definitely a very beautiful combination.

Higher states of consciousness

On the day of sports performance, it is very difficult to reach higher states of consciousness. The physical body holds us tight and won't let go. So it is nice to reconcile your thoughts or to go into a "thoughtless" state of mind. But shifting consciousness, even a little bit higher from the body, is very difficult. However, the second day after training, consciousness relaxes almost by itself. The physical body is tight, the muscles ache and there is nothing more beautiful than just relaxing the body and letting it lie down. It does not protest at all, and on the contrary - it welcomes it. So the body does not want to rest and go to higher states with your consciousness or try mental or astral travel. Everything will be easy.

In practice

I like a very nice combination, where one day I have a physical activity together with evening meditation, and the next day I let my physical body rest and go into higher states of consciousness. Whether it's for a few minutes or a few hours, I leave it to your discretion. Personally, I started like most of us in five minutes and now I'm around one to two hours. So one-day body training and the next day mind / spirit / consciousness training.
